Safety Instructions

Read and understand all instructions before operation.

  1. Wear appropriate PPE: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear.
  2. Operate in well-ventilated areas only to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
  3. Keep bystanders, especially children and pets, at a safe distance.
  4. Inspect unit before each use for loose parts, damage, or fuel leaks.

WARNING! Never operate the blower indoors or in enclosed spaces. Fuel is highly flammable; handle with care away from ignition sources.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all components.

  1. Attach blower tube: Align tube with outlet, push firmly until it clicks into place.
  2. Install shoulder strap: Attach hooks to designated points on the blower housing.
  3. Fuel mixture: Use STIHL 2-stroke engine oil mixed with unleaded gasoline (50:1 ratio).
  4. Fill fuel tank: Use clean fuel container; avoid overfilling.

CAUTION! Use only STIHL-approved oil and fuel mixtures. Incorrect fuel can cause severe engine damage.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Main controls located on the handle assembly.

Handle Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle trigger lock, choke lever, stop switch, master control lever.

Starting Procedure: Move master control to cold start position (choke on). Press fuel pump bulb 5 times. Pull starter rope briskly until engine fires. Move master control to half-throttle position. Pull starter rope again to start. Allow 30 seconds warm-up at idle.

Operation: Squeeze throttle trigger for variable speed control. Use throttle lock for continuous operation. Adjust shoulder strap for comfortable weight distribution.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use fresh unleaded gasoline with minimum 89 octane rating.

  1. Fuel mixture: 50:1 ratio (50 parts gasoline to 1 part STIHL 2-stroke oil).
  2. Mix fuel in approved container before adding to tank.
  3. Never use automotive oil, diesel fuel, or pre-mixed fuels not meeting STIHL specifications.
  4. Lubrication: Engine lubricated through fuel mixture. No separate lubrication required.

Tip: Use fuel within 30 days of mixing. Store in approved container away from sunlight.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Clean air filter, check for loose fasteners, inspect blower tube for obstructions.
  2. Weekly: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug condition, inspect fuel lines.
  3. Monthly: Clean carburetor, check anti-vibration elements, inspect exhaust system.
  4. Annually: Replace spark plug, clean fuel tank, professional servicing recommended.

WARNING! Always stop engine and allow to cool before maintenance. Disconnect spark plug wire for safety.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system damage and corrosion.

  1. Short-term (under 30 days): Fill fuel tank to prevent condensation.
  2. Long-term: Drain fuel tank completely. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor.
  3. Clean entire unit, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  4. Store in dry, cool place with spark plug wire disconnected.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods. Fuel deterioration can damage engine components.
