Assembly & Preparation

Cutting Head & Line Replacement

Easy-load bump feed system for quick line replacement.

  1. Unplug trimmer from power source.
  2. Press the two tabs on cutting head and remove spool.
  3. Remove any old line remnants.
  4. Cut two lengths of STIHL trimmer line (1.6 mm diameter) to approx. 4 meters each.
  5. Insert line ends into eyelets on spool and wind in direction of arrows.
  6. Reinstall spool into cutting head, ensuring line ends pass through eyelets.
  7. Pull lines gently to release from retainers.

WARNING! Use only STIHL recommended line. Do not use metal line or wire.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. After each use, clean grass and debris from cutting head and guard.
  2. Inspect power cord for damage; replace if frayed or cracked.
  3. Check all screws and fasteners for tightness periodically.
  4. Store in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.
  5. When storing for extended periods, remove trimmer line from cutting head.
