Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the nozzle: Align with fan housing and secure with provided clamps.
  2. Install the harness: Thread straps through backplate and adjust for fit.
  3. Connect the chemical hose: Attach from tank outlet to pump inlet, ensuring tight seals.
  4. Install the control cable: Connect throttle lever to engine carburetor.
  5. Add fuel and oil: Use fresh gasoline and STIHL 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio.

WARNING! Unit is heavy; use proper lifting technique. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

First-Time Operation

Perform pre-operation checks and start the engine.

  1. Check fuel and oil: Ensure proper mix in fuel tank.
  2. Inspect nozzle and hoses: Look for cracks or leaks.
  3. Prime the engine: Press primer bulb 5-7 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Set choke: Move to START position for cold engine.
  5. Start engine: Hold unit securely, pull starter cord briskly.
  6. Adjust throttle: After warm-up, adjust to desired operating speed.
  7. Test spray: Direct nozzle away from people/animals and engage pump.

CAUTION! Always wear PPE: goggles, gloves, respirator, and protective clothing when handling chemicals.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Main controls located on handle and engine housing.

Handle Controls: Throttle lever, pump engagement lever, stop switch.

Engine Controls: Choke lever, primer bulb, fuel valve.

Adjustments: Nozzle direction (vertical/horizontal), airflow volume (throttle), droplet size (nozzle tip), harness straps (length/tension).

Settings: For specific applications (e.g., mosquito control, orchard spraying), refer to chemical manufacturer guidelines for rate and droplet size.

Fuel & Chemical Handling

Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline (min. 89 octane) mixed with STIHL 2-stroke oil at 50:1.

  1. Mix fuel in approved container: Add oil to gasoline, close, and shake.
  2. Fill fuel tank: Use funnel; avoid spills. Clean any spilled fuel immediately.
  3. Chemical filling: Wear PPE. Fill tank to marked level; do not overfill.
  4. Chemical compatibility: Use only chemicals approved for mist blower application.

Tip: Store fuel and chemicals in labeled, approved containers away from heat and ignition sources.

Operating Procedures

Standard operation for spraying/dusting.

  1. Don PPE: Goggles, respirator, gloves, long sleeves, pants.
  2. Start engine: Follow steps in First-Time Operation.
  3. Adjust harness: Ensure comfortable, balanced fit.
  4. Begin application: Engage pump lever; adjust throttle for desired airflow.
  5. Apply chemical: Use sweeping motion, maintaining consistent distance from target.
  6. Monitor tank levels: Refuel and refill chemical tank as needed.
  7. Shutdown: Disengage pump, return throttle to idle, run for 30 seconds, press stop switch.

WARNING! Never point nozzle at people, animals, or food/water sources. Be aware of wind direction to avoid drift.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck fuel, oil, nozzle, hoses, harness
After each useFlush chemical tank and lines with clean water
Every 25 hoursClean/replace air filter; check spark plug
Every 50 hoursClean fuel filter; inspect fuel lines
Every 100 hoursCheck/replace pump diaphragm; inspect fan blades
AnnuallyFull service: carburetor adjustment, bearing inspection

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Storage & Transport

Prepare unit for storage or transport.

  1. Drain fuel: Run engine until it stops, or use fuel siphon.
  2. Drain chemical tank: Flush thoroughly with clean water.
  3. Clean exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; dry completely.
  4. Store: In dry, well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.
  5. Transport: Secure in vehicle to prevent tipping; ensure tank caps are tight.

CAUTION! Never store unit with fuel in tank for more than 30 days. Use fuel stabilizer if needed.
