WARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke.

Assembly & First Use

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble blower tube to engine unit.

  1. Attach the blower tube: Align the tube with the engine outlet and twist to lock.
  2. Attach the harness: Connect the harness hooks to the designated rings on the blower body.
  3. Fuel mixture: Prepare a 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke engine oil mixture using STIHL HP Ultra or equivalent.
  4. Fill the fuel tank: Use a fuel can with a spout. Do not overfill.

CAUTION! Ensure all connections are secure before starting the engine.

Controls and Operation

Main Controls: Master Control lever (Stop/Choke/Run), Throttle trigger with lockout, Stop switch.

Operation: Put on harness. Start engine (see Starting Procedure). Use throttle trigger to control airspeed. Use sweeping motions for best results. For vacuum function (if equipped with kit), attach collection bag and nozzle.

Adjusting Harness: Loosen/tighten straps for a snug, comfortable fit that distributes weight evenly.

Fuel & Oil Mixture

Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89. Mix with a high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a 50:1 ratio.

  1. Use a clean, approved fuel container.
  2. Add the correct amount of 2-stroke oil first.
  3. Add gasoline to the desired volume. Shake gently to mix.
  4. Do not use fuel older than 60 days. Do not mix oil directly in the machine's fuel tank.

Tip: Using STIHL HP Ultra oil is recommended for optimal engine performance and reduced carbon deposits.

Starting & Stopping Procedure

Follow these steps for safe starting.

  1. Place the blower on a firm, clear surface.
  2. Set Master Control lever to STOP (O).
  3. Press the fuel pump bulb (primer) 5-10 times until fuel is visible.
  4. Set Master Control lever to CHOKE (full left).
  5. With left hand holding the blower, pull the starter rope sharply until engine fires (usually 1-3 pulls).
  6. Immediately move Master Control lever to RUN (horizontal position).
  7. Pull starter rope again to start engine. Allow to warm up at idle for 30 seconds.
  8. To stop: Release throttle, let engine idle for 30 seconds, then move Master Control lever to STOP (O).

WARNING! Do not drop-start or "throw" start the engine. Keep the blower tube clear during starting.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures long life and optimal performance.

ComponentFrequencyAction
Air FilterEvery 10 hoursClean with soapy water, dry, re-oil (if foam). Replace if damaged.
Spark PlugEvery 50 hoursClean electrode, check gap (0.020"), replace if worn.
Fuel FilterEvery seasonReplace in-tank fuel filter.
Spark Arrestor ScreenEvery 50 hoursRemove and clean carbon deposits.
Fan HousingEvery seasonInspect and clean debris from intake and impeller area.

Storage

Prepare the blower for storage if not used for more than 30 days.

  1. Drain all fuel from the tank and run the engine until it stops to empty the carburetor.
  2. Remove the spark plug and add 1-2 teaspoons of 2-stroke oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter rope slowly 2-3 times to coat internals, then reinstall the plug.
  3. Clean the entire unit thoroughly.
  4. Store in a cool, dry, and locked place, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Storing with fuel in the tank can lead to gum deposits in the carburetor.
