Safety Instructions

  1. Personal Protective Equipment: Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sturdy boots, and close-fitting clothing.
  2. Work Area Safety: Keep bystanders and pets at least 15 meters away. Operate only in good visibility and stable footing.
  3. Tool Inspection: Check for damage before each use. Ensure all guards are in place.
  4. Fuel Safety: Refuel outdoors only when engine is cool. Use approved fuel container.

WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death from blade contact, kickback, or improper use. Never operate with one hand.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble handle and attach cutting blade.

  1. Handle Assembly: Attach D-loop handle to shaft using provided bolts. Tighten securely.
  2. Blade Attachment: Align blade with drive mechanism. Secure with retaining bolt and washer.
  3. Fuel Mix: Use STIHL 2-stroke engine oil mixed with unleaded gasoline at 50:1 ratio.
  4. Fill Tanks: Add fuel mix to fuel tank and STIHL hedge trimmer oil to oil tank.

CAUTION! Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation. Use only STIHL-approved oils.

Operation

Starting, running, and stopping procedures.

  1. Starting Cold Engine: Move stop switch to "I". Set choke lever to cold start position. Press primer bulb 5 times. Pull starter rope until engine fires. Move choke lever to run position. Pull starter rope to start.
  2. Starting Warm Engine: Set choke lever to run position. Pull starter rope.
  3. Operation: Hold trimmer with both hands. Squeeze throttle trigger lockout and throttle trigger to engage blade.
  4. Stopping: Release throttle trigger. Move stop switch to "0".

Tip: Allow engine to warm up at idle for 30 seconds before full throttle operation.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use proper fuel mix and check oil level regularly.

  1. Fuel Mix: 50:1 ratio (2% oil). Use STIHL HP Ultra or equivalent.
  2. Refueling: Stop engine and allow to cool. Clean area around cap. Fill to marked level.
  3. Blade Lubrication: Automatic system. Check oil level before each use. Manual override available.
  4. Chain Oil: Use STIHL hedge trimmer oil for best performance.

WARNING! Never use straight gasoline or automotive oil. Do not smoke while refueling.

Storage

  2. Long-term: Drain fuel completely. Remove spark plug, add 1 tsp oil through spark plug hole, pull starter rope slowly 2-3 times. Reinstall spark plug. Store in dry, secure location.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank for more than 4 weeks. Fuel deterioration can damage engine.

Warranty Information

STIHL Limited Warranty: 12 months for commercial use, 24 months for private use from date of purchase. Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.
