Operation

Using the Tap'N'Go system for effective trimming.

  1. Starting: Insert a charged battery. Hold the trimmer firmly. Press the lockout lever and squeeze the trigger.
  2. Basic Trimming: Hold the cutting head parallel to the ground, slightly above the grass. Use a smooth, sweeping motion from side to side.
  3. Advancing Line: If the line wears short, lightly tap the cutting head on the ground while the motor is running at operating speed (Tap'N'Go).
  4. Edging: To edge along sidewalks, rotate the trimmer so the cutting line is vertical.
  5. Stopping: Release the trigger. Remove the battery when not in use.

Tip: Avoid forcing the trimmer. Let the tip of the line do the work. Do not use for cutting woody plants or saplings.

Cutting Head & Line Replacement

Replacing the nylon line in the Tap'N'Go head.

  1. Ensure the trimmer is off and the battery is removed.
  2. Press the two tabs on the sides of the spool housing and remove the cover.
  3. Remove the empty spool.
  4. Take approx. 5 meters of 2.0 mm STIHL nylon line. Find the center and bend it into a "U".
  5. Insert the ends of the line into the two holes on the new spool. Wind the line onto the spool in the direction of the arrow.
  6. Place the spool back into the housing, ensuring the line ends pass through the eyelets.
