Assembly & Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure you have the correct KombiTool attachment for your task.

  1. Attach handle: Align handle with mounting points and secure with provided bolts.
  2. Install harness attachment: If using carrying harness, attach to designated points.
  3. Connect KombiTool: Align attachment shaft with powerhead interface and lock into place.
  4. Fuel mixture: Prepare correct 2-stroke fuel/oil mixture (50:1 ratio recommended).
  5. Fill fuel tank: Use clean fuel container to fill tank with approved mixture.

WARNING! Always wear appropriate PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and sturdy footwear. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, complete pre-operation checks and familiarize yourself with controls.

  1. Pre-operation check: Verify all fasteners are tight, attachment is secure, and area is clear.
  2. Starting procedure: Set stop switch to "I", press fuel primer bulb, set choke, pull starter cord.
  3. Warm-up: Allow engine to run at idle for 30-60 seconds before applying load.
  4. Attachment operation: Engage throttle gradually; maintain firm grip with both hands.
  5. Shutdown: Release throttle, allow engine to idle briefly, move stop switch to "0".

CAUTION! Never operate without proper training. Keep bystanders at least 15 meters away during operation.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main controls located on handle assembly and powerhead.

Handle Controls: Throttle trigger, throttle lockout, stop switch, handle grip.

Powerhead Controls: Choke lever, primer bulb, starter grip, fuel tank cap, attachment release.

Operation Modes: Idle position, half throttle, full throttle. Safety Features: Throttle trigger lockout prevents accidental engagement. Stop switch immediately cuts ignition. Anti-vibration system reduces transmitted vibrations. Spark arrestor muffler prevents emission of burning particles.

Attaching KombiTools

Compatible with various Stihl KombiTool attachments: brushcutters, hedge trimmers, pole pruners, cultivators, etc.

  1. Ensure powerhead is off and cool to touch.
  2. Align attachment shaft with powerhead interface.
  3. Push firmly until locking mechanism engages (audible click).
  4. Tug gently to confirm secure attachment.
  5. To remove: Press release button while pulling attachment away.

Tip: Always clean attachment interface before connecting to prevent debris interference.

Operating Procedures

Proper technique ensures safety and optimal performance.

  1. Starting: Engage throttle lockout, set choke, press primer 5-10 times, pull starter cord firmly.
  2. Warm operation: Allow 30-60 seconds at idle before applying load to attachment.
  3. Brushcutting: Use sweeping motions from right to left, keeping cutting head parallel to ground.
  4. Hedge trimming: Use smooth, controlled movements; avoid forcing through thick branches.
  5. Pole pruning: Secure footing before extending; cut branches in stages if large.
  6. Shutdown: Release throttle, allow 30-second cool down, engage stop switch.

WARNING! Never operate above shoulder height. Always maintain secure footing and balance.

Safety Features

Multiple integrated safety systems: Throttle trigger lockout requires deliberate action to engage. Stop switch provides immediate shutdown. Anti-vibration reduces fatigue-related accidents. Spark arrestor muffler minimizes fire risk. Protective shields on attachments guard against debris.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and safe operation.

Daily: Clean exterior, check fasteners, inspect cutting attachment.

Weekly: Clean air filter, check spark plug, inspect fuel lines.

Monthly: Clean cooling fins, check anti-vibration elements, lubricate attachment interface.

Storage: Drain fuel or add stabilizer, clean thoroughly, store in dry location.

CAUTION! Always disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance. Use only genuine Stihl parts.
