Tip: For best performance and battery life, avoid completely draining the battery. Recharge when indicator shows one light remaining.

Cutting Techniques

Use a smooth, sweeping motion for best results.

  1. Basic Trimming: Hold trimmer at a slight angle so the cutting line contacts grass tips. Swing from side to side.
  2. Edging: Tilt trimmer so the cutting line is vertical to create a clean edge along paths and borders.
  3. Avoiding Damage: Do not force the cutting line into hard objects like fences, walls, or tree bark.
  4. Line Advance: The AutoCut head will automatically feed new line as needed when you tap it lightly on the ground while the tool is running at speed.
  5. Tall Grass/Weeds: Use a slower, deliberate side-to-side motion, working in layers if necessary.

WARNING! Always be aware of the cutting zone. Never swing the trimmer above knee height or near feet.

Safety Features

Safety Lock-Out Trigger: Prevents accidental starting. The trigger must be unlocked before it can be pressed. Safety Guard: Essential for deflecting debris. Always keep it installed and in good condition. Harness: Reduces fatigue and improves control, lowering risk of loss of control.

Care & Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures long life and safe operation. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.

  1. After Each Use: Clean grass and debris from the cutting head, guard, and shaft with a brush or cloth.
  2. Cutting Line: Check line length and replace spool when line is worn short. Use only STIHL genuine nylon line of the correct diameter.
  3. Inspection: Regularly check for loose screws, cracks in the guard, or damage to the shaft.
  4. Storage: Store in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Do not use water or high-pressure cleaners to clean the trimmer. Do not lubricate the cutting head unless specified in the manual.
