Controls and Operation

Main controls located on handle assembly. Throttle trigger for variable speed, throttle lock for continuous operation.

Controls: Stop switch (I/O), choke lever (run/cold start), primer bulb, throttle trigger, throttle lock button.

Operation: Start with choke on cold start. After engine fires, move choke to run position. Use throttle trigger to control airflow speed. Engage throttle lock for extended use. To stop, release throttle and press stop switch to "O".

Fuel & Lubrication

Use only fresh unleaded gasoline with minimum 89 octane. Mix with STIHL 2-stroke oil at 50:1 ratio.

  1. Always shake fuel container before refueling.
  2. Clean area around fuel cap before opening.
  3. Do not mix oil and gasoline directly in fuel tank.
  4. Use fuel stabilizer if storing for more than 30 days.

Tip: Use STIHL HP Ultra oil for reduced carbon deposits and longer engine life.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Clean air filter, check for loose fasteners, inspect blower tube for cracks.
  2. Weekly: Clean cooling fins, check spark plug condition, inspect fuel lines.
  3. Monthly: Clean exhaust screen, check anti-vibration elements, lubricate throttle linkage.
  4. Annually: Replace spark plug, clean carburetor, check cylinder compression.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Drain fuel tank completely or add fuel stabilizer.
  2. Run engine until it stops to clear carburetor of fuel.
  3. Clean entire unit, especially cooling fins and air filter.
  4. Store in dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  5. Cover unit with breathable cloth to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never store unit with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
