Safety Instructions

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Assemble according to diagrams.

  1. Attach blower tube: Align tube with outlet, twist clockwise until it clicks.
  2. Adjust harness: Loosen straps, put on backpack, tighten for snug fit without restricting movement.
  3. Fuel mix: Use STIHL MotoMix pre-mixed fuel or mix 50:1 with STIHL 2-stroke oil and 89 octane gasoline.
  4. Starting procedure: Set master control lever to START, press primer bulb 5 times, pull starter cord until engine fires.

CAUTION! Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation. Do not force components during assembly.

Maintenance Schedule

Daily: Check for loose fasteners, clean air filter, inspect spark plug. Weekly: Clean cooling fins, check fuel lines. Monthly: Clean spark arrestor screen, check carburetor settings.

  1. Air Filter: Remove, wash in soapy water, dry, re-oil with STIHL filter oil.
  2. Spark Plug: Clean electrode, adjust gap to 0.020 in., replace if worn.
  3. Fuel Filter: Replace every 50 hours or if clogged.
  4. Carburetor Adjustment: Use tachometer to set high-speed jet to 12,800 RPM.
