Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  1. Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and gloves.
  2. Operate only in well-ventilated areas to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
  3. Keep bystanders, pets, and children at a safe distance (at least 15 meters).
  4. Inspect the blower for damage before each use. Do not operate if damaged.
  5. Use only STIHL-approved fuel mixture (gasoline and 2-stroke oil).

WARNING! Risk of fire and burns. The muffler and engine become extremely hot during and after operation. Allow to cool before refueling, transporting, or storing.

Assembly & Preparation

Unpack all components and inspect for shipping damage.

  1. Attach the harness: Connect the shoulder straps and waist belt to the blower unit as per diagram.
  2. Assemble the blower tube: Connect the tube sections securely, ensuring locking tabs click into place.
  3. Install the air filter: Place the filter element into the housing and secure the cover.
  4. Fuel mixture: Prepare a fresh fuel mix of unleaded gasoline (min. 89 octane) and STIHL 2-stroke oil at a 50:1 ratio. Fill the fuel tank.
  5. Pre-start check: Ensure all fasteners are tight and the blower tube is securely attached.

CAUTION! Do not force parts during assembly. Refer to the included diagrams.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main controls located on the handle and engine housing.

Handle Controls: Throttle lever (with lockout), Master Control Lever (for START, RUN, STOP), and Cruise Control button (for constant speed).

Engine Housing: Fuel tank cap, Primer bulb, Choke lever, Decompression valve button, Spark plug, and Air filter cover.

Harness: Adjustable shoulder straps, padded back support, quick-release buckle, and load stabilizer straps.

Starting & Operation

Place the blower on a flat, clear surface for starting.

  1. Set the Master Control Lever to the START/CHOKE position (cold start).
  2. Press the primer bulb 5-10 times until fuel is visible.
  3. Press the decompression valve (if equipped).
  4. Hold the unit securely with one hand on the handle and one foot on the base. Pull the starter rope briskly until the engine fires.
  5. Move the Master Control Lever to the RUN position. The engine should idle.
  6. Put on the harness, adjust for comfort, and secure all straps.
  7. To operate, squeeze the throttle lever. Use the Cruise Control to maintain a constant speed during extended use.

Tip: For a warm start, set the Master Control Lever directly to RUN.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures performance and longevity.

Spark PlugEvery 50 hrsCheck gap; clean or replace.
Fuel FilterEvery 100 hrs / AnnuallyReplace.
Blower Tube / ImpellerWeekly / As neededInspect for cracks/debris; clean.
Muffler & Spark ArrestorEvery 100 hrsClean carbon deposits.
Fasteners & HarnessBefore each useCheck for tightness and wear.

Fuel & Lubrication

Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89. Mix with STIHL 2-Stroke Engine Oil at a 50:1 ratio.

  1. Use a clean, approved fuel container.
  2. Add the correct amount of oil to the gasoline. Shake container thoroughly.
  3. Fill the fuel tank before operation. Do not overfill.
  4. Never use fuel older than 60 days. Stale fuel causes starting and performance issues.
  5. Lubricate the blower tube connection points periodically with a silicone spray.

WARNING! Fuel is highly flammable. Refuel outdoors, with the engine off and cool. Wipe up any spills immediately.

Storage Guidelines

Prepare the blower for storage if it will not be used for more than 30 days.

  1. Drain all fuel from the tank and carburetor. Run the engine until it stops to use up fuel in the lines.
  2. Remove the spark plug and add a teaspoon of 2-stroke oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter rope slowly to distribute oil, then reinstall the plug.
  3. Clean the entire unit, especially the air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Store in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated place, out of reach of children.
  5. Cover the blower to protect it from dust.

CAUTION! Never store the unit with fuel in the tank indoors or in an enclosed space.
